Bagged Salads Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

It’s been reported that the Food and Drug Administration released a recall announcement related to a lot of bagged salads produced and distributed by Dole Fresh Vegetables.

According to the official statement, 756 cases of Dole Seven Lettuces salads were discovered to have been contaminated with salmonella, an organism that could pose a serious threat to consumers with a compromised immune system.

According to the federal agency and a recent alert issued by the Consumer Reports, these salads were distributed across the nation with the following product codes: 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B.  The firm has stated that no illnesses have been reported in association with this product but as a precautionary act, all recalled bags should be returned to the place of purchase right away. Consumers with the recalled bags of salad in their possession are entitled to receive a refund as soon as the item is returned.

The FDA urges consumers to wash their produce thoroughly and to prevent a potential cross contamination by keeping meat and greens in different compartments inside of your fridge.

It’s better to be safe than sorry, it’s what any Vancouver Personal Injury Lawyer would say. Whenever you hear about a recall alert related to a food item you have purchased, do not hesitate and contact the manufacturer as soon as possible. If you have one of these recalled bags of recalled lettuce salads, follow the federal agency’s instructions and return the product to the place of purchase right away.

Whenever you or a dear friend is injured or hurt in any way through the use or consumption of a recalled product, you might want to contact a personal injury lawyer Bellevue if you live in the area to have your case evaluated by a seasoned professional.

Montebello Overpass Rebuild Complete Five Months After Blaze

If you follow the news closely, you may remember that, back in December, a Montebello overpass was engulfed in flames because of a tanker truck fire.  As a result, the entire thing had to be rebuilt.  Well, the overpass has now been finished, weeks ahead of when estimates had pegged work as likely to be complete.

The initial incident took place along State Route 60 in the area where the freeway intersects with the Paramount Boulevard overpass.  A tanker truck was traveling through the area when it caught fire.  The California Highway Patrol has alleged that the fire was the result of improper maintenance of the vehicle.

The blaze burned for hours, and as a result, 10 miles of the freeway east of Los Angeles had to be closed.  This highly traveled section of the highway had to be shut down for three days so that the blaze could be brought under control and the damage could be contained.

Now, though, the bridge is ready to open ahead of schedule.  It will finally be ready for commuters to travel on this coming Monday.

As a personal injury lawyer in San Francisco, I applaud the efforts of officials to get the road back up and running.  I only wish that the initial blaze would have never happened in the first place.  I hope as a San Francisco car accident attorney that all vehicles being driven are roadworthy, so that incidents like this can be avoided.

By request from the United States Consumer Product Safety commission, One World Technologies has voluntarily recalled about 89,000 gas powered barbecue grills. More than 560 customer complaints about leaking regulators provoked the recall. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission a leaking regulator can pose a fire hazard and burn risk. These grills were distributed for sale at Home Depot hardware stores throughout the United States between March of 2011 and February of 2012 for a purchase price ranging from $79 to $350. One World Technologies plans to send owners of affected grills replacement regulators at no additional cost. Consumers in possession of grills affected by this recall should stop their use until a new regulator has been sent and installed. The grills included in this recall are the Stok Quattro (with four burners) and the Stok Island (a round grill with two burners) model gas powered grills. Penn Truck Inspectors Encounter Numerous Safety Violations

A new report puts a light on how important truck inspections are to maintaining safety and also just how many big rigs might have issues that compromise that safety.

A Pittsburgh news station recently set up camp with Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission officers to see just what inspections entail and what goes on in a typical day.  This occurred near Bridgeville at a rest stop along Interstate 79.  While there, they got to see firsthand what inspectors have to go through, and the results are somewhat frightening.

One truck was found to have a poorly adjusted brake.  Brakes, it should be noted, are one of the most common violation types.  The truck driver was given ten days to fix the issue.  And an ice cream truck was also brought under scrutiny when it was discovered that the driver wasn’t accurately filing logs in her log book, or even carrying her log books from the past seven days.  They also discovered brake issues, shock issues, and poorly treaded tires.  This prompted an out-of-service sticker.

These issues are indicative of a potential overall safety problem with trucks along highways.  Statistics show that, in the past two years alone, 2,500 trucks have had to be pulled from service amid 14,000 inspections.  Plus, 20,000 violations were found.

As far as how drivers feel about the issue, they told reporters that random inspections are important, if not a little inconvenient.

Being a car accident lawyer in Long Beach, I find it essential to pay attention to stories about highway safety from across the country.  An issue in one locale typically affects another.  I hope as a Long Beach personal injury attorney that trucks across the entire nation meet safety requirements so that commuters aren’t endangered.

They were imported by Bonded Apparel Inc, of Los Angeles, California and sold exclusively at d.d’s discounts stores across the country. They are being recalled because the neck drawstrings of these jackets pose a strangulation hazard to children. Woman Detained After Driving At 100 mph In Sonoma County

According to a series of news articles, a woman from Northern California was taken into the custody of the authorities after being spotted driving at 100 miles per hour in Sonoma County.

The 34-year-old woman was driving her Toyota 4Runner in a construction zone at extremely high rates of speed when a trooper pulled over around 9 o’clock in the evening.

According to the official reports from the CHP trooper, the woman claimed she was late for her child’s birthday party. The authorities claim she was taken into custody after the trooper tested her blood-alcohol level to find it was reportedly more than double the legal limit.

No injuries were reported and no incidents occurred as a result of the driver’s seemingly reckless behavior.

It’s my hope as a personal injury lawyer Riverside that other drivers in California keep it in mind that driving under the influence of alcohol could claim lives and put your safety at risk. I urge you as a driver to never drink and drive, which could lead to a series of dangerous and sometimes even fatal accidents.

Being involved in an accident caused by a drunken driver can be quite stressful. If you’re ever involved in a similar accident that was caused by the negligence of a third party, please consult with a San Bernardino personal injury lawyer if you live in the region to learn more about the legal options available to your case.

Do not hesitate and act fast.

2012 Ram 1500 Trucks Recalled

According to a series of recall articles, Chrysler is issuing a recall warning for all units of the model year 2012 Ram 1500 trucks.

The trucks, which were built between January 5th, 2012 and January 6th, 2012, have spare tires that do not meet the safety requirements listed under Federal Motor Safety Standard No.110. According to the recall announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration if these spare tires are installed, the vehicle’s electronic stability control could be activated unexpectedly, which could jeopardize the proper functioning of the vehicle. The wrong sized tires could compromise the effectiveness of the system and a crash could occur.

As soon as the recall warning was issued by the federal agency’s website, the company prepared notification warnings to all registered owners. Dealers are instructed to fix these recalled trucks and replace the defective tires for free.

It’s my hope as a Federal Way Personal Injury Lawyer that all recalled trucks are equipped with proper sized spare tires before any accidents or injuries are reported in the near future. Although no incidents associated with this model of truck have been reported, I urge truck owners to check if they have any of these recalled vehicles in their possession immediately.

Ignoring a recall alert related to a product or vehicle you own is risky and should be avoided. If you own one of the 2012 Ram 1500 trucks listed under this notice, act fast and have your vehicle repaired promptly.

Whenever you or a dear friend is injured in an accident that was caused by a recalled, defective and potentially hazardous vehicle, please consider consulting with a personal injury lawyer Bellevue right away.
